Gleaning from research-based wisdom to build children into thoughtful disciples of Jesus

Who Am I?

My name is Robin Malcolm. I am a career missionary to children. I have 25 years experience working with churches and their children in majority world countries—primarily Africa, but also a smattering of work with Latin American countries. Prior to my appointment as a missionary, my late husband and I served as children’s pastors in the United States.

I am an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, and I hold a masters in education in curriculum and instruction from Southwestern Assemblies of God university. I am the co-author of two books on ministry to children: “Shaping the Clay: Children’s Ministry for Transformation”, and “Power-Filled: Leading Children into the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.”

Mostly, though, I just love working with children, working with those who work with children, and I have an insatiable curiosity to understand why things work the way they do.

What is my Goal?

See these kids in your church? These little lights? I want to help you build them into thoughtful and faithful lifetime followers of Jesus.

It doesn’t matter to me if you are in North America, South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, Eurasia, or Antarctica. If you are discipling kids, I want to help.

These little lights of ours— let’s help them shine.

How do I hope to do this?

Writing about Evidence-based practices for the local church

I connect research in church ministry, research in education, and research in spiritual development, to local church ministry to children. My hope is that each post would be one short insight that can help those who work with children or those who lead them.

Writing resource reviews

I love reading and reviewing curriculum and resources that are currently commercially available. I write my thoughts about their strengths and weaknesses, and their use in various contexts.
